Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) is recognised as one of the most important pioneers of Danish design. Training as a silversmith at the Georg Jensen workshop he was then inspired, after the birth of his son Otto, to create wooden children’s toys. And this is where his story as one of Denmark’s most prolific artisans perhaps began. Bojesen’s toys have soul and an impish sense of humour, he brings wood to life. All his animals are incredibly playful and as such are enjoyed by both children and adults alike. You can’t help but play with them, and there lays their beauty- they bring out a bit of cheekiness in all of us.
Welcome Songbird Alfred into your family, the Kay Bojesen bird will soon become a life long companion. Alfred is made from natural and smoked oak making him ideal for any contemporary interior. He would make a perfect gift for the arrival of a new little one into the nest of the family home, but would be equally welcomed as a gift to signify an older one flying that nest to setting up home with a penchant for Danish design.
